The 2017 fire season in British Columbia broke three historical records; the largest single fire ever, the most evacuees and the largest total area burnt.
Heat waves, minimal rainfall and dead pine forests (due to the mountain pine beetle infestation) were all major contributing factors.
These 100 photographs were taken at dawn, at varying exposures, as the sun rose through the smoke blanketing the Pacific Northwest.
